7 August 2013 - My eleventh book, Elfrida, The First Crowned Queen of England was released today. This book, which is the first biography of the most important Anglo-Saxon queen consort has been a major labour of love for me, which I have worked on, on and off, for the past seven years. Enjoy!

6 August 2013 - The Anne Boleyn Papers (published by Amberley) was released today. Please note that this is the paperback of Anne Boleyn In Her Own Words and the Words of Those Who Knew Her, which has been renamed. 

4 August 2013 - Philippa Gregory's The White Queen continues to be aired on BBC1. My biography of the White Queen's co-conspirator and, later, rival, Margaret Beaufort, was recommended as a study of 'the Red Queen' in Philippa Gregory's non-fiction The Women of the Cousin's War.

25 July 2013 - I appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss the history behind the choice of 'George Alexander Louis' for the royal baby. They're great choices which are filled with history, particularly George which has come to symbolise stability in the British monarchy. The show will be available on the BBC I-Player for a week and I appear at 7.10am. 

25 July 2013 - My tenth book, The Boleyn Women, has now been released. The book is the only book to look at the history of the Boleyn family through its women. Every woman who married a Boleyn or was born one is covered, as are a number of daughters of Boleyn women.

24 July 2013 - The second episode of The Real White Queen and her Rivals airs on BBC2 today at 9pm. As with the first episode, I was involved in advising the production team on Margaret Beaufort, as well as carrying out some original research on their behalf.

15 July 2013 - I spent the day at Hampton Court with Alison Weir's Six Wives Tours. Everyone had a great day and I later gave talks on the early life of Catherine Parr and Elizabeth Blount.

11 July 2013 - I was filming with BBC London today for an update on progress on the Tudor kitchen garden project.. Everything is growing really well and the update should be shown next week.

10 July 2013 - Bessie Blount was released in paperback today. Bessie, who was Henry VIII's mistress and the mother of his only acknowledged illegitimate child - Henry Fitzroy - was a fascinating character in her own right. At one stage she was considered a rival to Anne Boleyn and a potential future queen. 

1 July 2013 - I visited Crofton Ann Dale School in Stubbington, Hampshire, today to run a workshop with some of the years 4, 5 and 6 pupils on the six wives of Henry VIII. It was a great day and the children did really well in writing final letters to Henry VIII from Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn and Anne of Cleves.

20 May 2013 - I attended the press day of the Chelsea Flower Show today. It was a great day and a fantastic place to visit. While I was there, I was interviewed for the Robert Elms Show on BBC London Radio  (94.9 fm). I also went round the show recording my thoughts on some of the exhibits which were also broadcast on BBC London Radio. The show, which was broadcast from the Chelsea Flower Show will be available on the BBC I-Player for a week.

22 March 2013 - I appeared with my family on the BBC London news today to discuss my Tudor vegetable plot and to show the seed planting.Grow Your Own is a great campaign and I'm really excited about being a part of it.

20 March 2013 - Spent the morning filming for the BBC's Grow Your Own campaign. The seeds for my Tudor vegetable garden are now planted so look out for television and radio updates, as well as my Blog posts on Tudor kitchen gardens - no potatoes and lots of root vegetables, including purple carrots!

1 March 2013 - My new book, Boleyn Women, announced for release in July 2013. The book looks at the lives of all the women of the Boleyn family from the fourteenth to the end of the sixteenth century. I've added further details over at my blog: www.elizabethnortonhistorian.blogspot.co.uk 

27 February 2013 - Issue 127 of Your Family Tree magazine (April 2012) is in the shops now. My article on Medieval Tax Records is included in the'How-to' section. 

22 February 2013 - Received a copy of Haunted Lambeth by James Clark (published by The History Press) today. I helped the author regarding the historical fact behind a legend that Anne Boleyn had been tried at Lambeth Palace and that her ghostly cries still haunt the area. It's a spooky tale but based on a confusion about Anne's trial and the church court that tried the validity of her marriage - Anne was certainly not taken to Lambeth for her trial. Anyway, it looks like a good book! 

21 February 2013 - The March 2013 issue of Your Family History magazine (issue 38) is now on sale. Look out for my article on tracing ancestors before 1066. 

13 February 2013 - Anne Boleyn: In Her Own Words and the Words of Those Who Knew Her reviewed in the Kent Family History Society Journal vol 13 no.10 (March 2013).

1 February 2013 - Just got my copy of issue 126 of Your Family Tree magazine (March 2013) containing my feature article on tracing ancestors back to 1066. In the article I look at the top ten records, including military records, parish records, heraldic visitations and manorial documents.

21 January 2013 - I gave a talk this lunchtime to the student history society at Kingston Grammar School on Margaret Beaufort's role in bringing Henry VII to the throne. The talk also looked at Margaret's life in general before 1485.

14 January 2013 - Just received the March 2013 of British Heritage magazine which should be on sale in the United States and Canada shortly. My article 'Six Old Wives Tales' is inside.

1 January 2013 - I was featured in the David Prever New Year's Day show on BBC Three Counties Radio, looking ahead to the big news stories of 2013. I was discussing the forthcoming royal baby, as well as the history of English queenship. The interview was lie but can be listened to over the next few days on the BBC Three Counties Radio website. 

4 December 2012 - I was interviewed today for BBC Three Counties Radio (the Roberto Perrone shows) about the forthcoming royal baby and change to the succession allowing women equal rights with men. 18 October 2012 - I was invited to attend the West End premier of Double Bill at the Arts Theatre. The show (as the name suggests!) is made up of two separate plays which are both inspired by Shakespeare's works. The first, Shakespeare's Queens: She-wolves and Serpents, was amusing and great entertainment, while the second, The Madness of King Lear, provided a very interesting journey into the mind of King Lear himself. I would highly recommend them both.

15 October 2012 - Bloody Tales of the Tower released on DVD in the UK. I am in episode 3 discussing Catherine Howard's final journey to the Tower of London.

30 June 2011 - England's Queens: The Biography released. The first book to chart the entire history of English queenship from Raedburgh in the ninth century (as well as the early and mythical queens) to Elizabeth II. The book is extensively illustrated and an excellent reference guide to the queens of England.

24 June 2011 - I am speaking this evening at Anne of Cleves' House in Lewes, East Sussex, looking at the relationship between Henry VIII and Anne of Cleves and their 'romance'. This should be an interesting talk. Further details will be added to my Talks and Events page later.
